Sensory Friendly Nutcracker

Since 2018, PDT has presented a Sensory Friendly Nutcracker in partnership with Montgomery County Community College, Lively Arts, and Disability Services. This performance provides an abbreviated and gentler version of the classic holiday ballet with adaptations that make viewing easier for those with specialized needs.

The Sensory Friendly performance features lower music, softer lighting, and judgement free viewing for our friends with sensory sensitivities and our youngest audience members. After the show, audience members are invited on stage to meet the dancers and see the costumes and sets up close.

PDT is proud to be able to offer this performance to families with sensory sensitivities so they too may experience the joy of The Nutcracker. It is incredible to see how rewarding of an experience it is not only for the viewers, but for our dancers as well.
