Here is What's Happening at PDT, April 19th, 2018...

1. The June 10th Showcase — don’t let you dancer miss out!

  • The Showcase is the annual opportunity for all of PDT's dancers to perform onstage, in at least one dance

  • Each and every class (a "class" is defined by Instructor, Level and Day,  e.g. Melissa's Ballet 1x/2 class on Thursdays) will perform a dance in the June 10th Showcase
  • Moving forward, any absence from a given class will result in your dancer’s exclusion from that particular class' dance in the Showcase
  • Your dancer may be attending more than one class at PDT, and so they will perform in the dance for each and every class that they attend — without fail — between now and June 10th.
  • … except Ballet 3/4, who will be combined into one dance…

2. Summer Programs 2018
Enrollment for PDT’s Summer Programs is live! Click here to log-in to your account and enroll in Summer Maintenance Classes, Dance Camp 101, Summer Intensive and Nutcracker Boot Camp. Click here for more details.

3. Video for “A Midsummer Night’s Dream +Breaking Ground” will be available for download, the date to be determined…

4. And last but not least, many “Thanks” to everyone who has purchased snacks, Saturday breakfast and dance wear at the PDT thrift sale. As well as to those who attended our “Harry Potter Fun Night,” and the Valentine’s Party.
The proceeds from all of these have raised enough money to fully pay for the charter bus that will take our PDT dancers to the Regional Dance America Northeast Festival, to be held this Memorial Day weekend.

Happy Snow Day March 21, 2018!
Here are just a few things that are happening:

1. Support PDT and your dancers by placing a Personal Post or Advertisement in the Midsummer Night’s Dream + Breaking Ground program. You can get the flyer with information for placing ads here, and you can place a Personal Post using the form found here.

2. Babysitting on “Rehearsal Saturdays”
Our older dancers have volunteered to babysit on Saturdays, for the time between the conclusion of classes and when rehearsals begin — 11:15am-3:00pm. The cost is $5.00/hour. Please contact us at philadancetheatre@gmail.com if you are interested. We will have more details by Saturday :)
The proceeds will help fund the expense of the charter bus that will take PDT’s dancers to Regional Dance America on Memorial Day weekend. Thank you!

3. No Midsummer Night’s Dream Rehearsals 3/24 or 3/31

4. The “Midsummer Night’s Dream + Breaking Ground”  appears here and on the PDT Calendar.

5. We don’t have a free giveaway this week, but the first people to purchase the remaining 100 seats for each of the shows of  Midsummer Night’s Dream + Breaking Ground will actually get to see the performances.
And anyone who tries to purchase tickets after that… won’t.
Don’t delay, we have never had so many seats sold this soon, and there is no “Undo” when you miss a live performance.

Thank you and have a good weekend!

Happy Thursday March 15, 2018!
Here are just a few things that are happening:

1. Congratulations to the dancers who performed contemporary pieces last night, judged for entry into the Regional Dance America Festival. The dances, choreographed by PDT’s Pat Brown, Melissa Chisena, Lila Kushner and Jorge Rullan are the exciting features of this year’s “Breaking Ground” performance on April 14th. Purchase tickets here.

2. Tickets for "A Midsummer Night's Dream + Breaking Ground" are selling faster than ever. Performances are at 1:00 and 5:00pm on April 14th. Click here to avoid that sinking feeling you will get when you discover that you can’t attend, because you procrastinated and the shows are sold out. Oh, no!

3. Last week’s giveaway…
We had many responses, but Janise Lee (Matalai’s mom) was the third purchaser of "A Midsummer Night's Dream + Breaking Ground" tickets, and winner of a PDT logotype T-shirt.

And this week’s giveaway…
The first family to answer this question will win a $5.00 credit to the PDT “Snack Cabinet.” Really. Here is the question:
At what time do Midsummer Night’s Dream “Fireflies” rehearse this Saturday, March 17th? Click here to find the answer in the PDT Calendar :)

4. Lost and found in the Studio:
One pair of reading glasses and one pair of tortoise shell “schoolboy” glasses.

Thank you and have a good weekend!
