Philadelphia Dance Theatre Showcase 2018
Sunday, June 10th 2018 at 4:00pm
The Kurtz Center for the Performing Arts at William Penn Charter School
THE PERFORMANCE IS SOLD OUT
* There will be one, and only one, "Technical Rehearsal" for the Showcase — on the day of the performance.
Time 11:00am - 3:00pm. See below or the PDT Calendar for details.
The Open Division Showcase is a unique opportunity for not only our Pre-Professional Ballet 1 through 6 dancers to shine,
but for our Open Division and Pre-Ballet dancers, as well!
The Open Division Showcase includes every student in the school. We will assume all dancers will participate unless you specifically notify us that your child cannot. This means every level of the Pre-Ballet, Ballet, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Modern and Adult Classes will be presenting a piece. Students will wear their class uniform for the performance. Girls will add a skirt in the Ballet 1-6 levels.
Your child will wear their PDT Dress Code Leotard — you can get the Dress Code here. Girls in Levels 1 and up will add a matching skirt in the style "Daphne," which you can see here. If you do not have PDT’s official school uniform, in order to participate you must order prior to the show from Swan Dancewear. Hip Hop, Modern, and Jazz will also wear the class uniform.
*Please note that it is imperative your child attend class regularly to learn the piece and the scheduled rehearsals. Choreography will begin April. Dancers will meet for a scheduled rehearsal to learn the dance and then practice the last 10 minutes of classes. All Pre-Ballet, Jazz, Adult, and Hip Hop classes will learn their dance in class.
Class dances for Pre-Ballet, Ballet 1,1x,2,2x will all be done in class and will begin learning the dance the last 15 minutes of class starting the week of April 16th.
