Policies

Registration and Enrollment
All students must be formally registered prior to attending classes at Philadelphia Dance Theatre. The registration process includes creation of an account through our website and selecting the Log In link located near the top right of the page, which will direct you to our family/student database known as TheStudioDirector. You can also access you account on your mobile device by downloading TheStudioDirector app. There is a $35 annual registration fee for each family.  Tuition is a flat monthly rate based on the student level.  Charges will appear monthly from September through May.  In order to enhance student confidence and advancement, we encourage enrollment in multiple classes. PDT offers students the flexibility to take as many classes at their level or lower levels as desired. There is no additional cost to partake in extra classes.  

Tuition Policies
Tuition is due the first of the month. Families are expected to keep their account in good standing. We suggest you use the automatic payment feature for easy payments. There are no credits and tuition is non-refundable.  Accounts that become delinquent are subject to late fees.

Missed Class Policy 
At any time students can make up missed classes by attending another class in their level or the levels below. 

Dropping a class 
If you wish to swap or drop classes please email pdt.accts@gmail.com, so your schedule can be updated.

June Showcase 
All active students will have an opportunity to perform in the June showcase. The dresscode leotard will be their costume.

Etiquette
No matter where you are in the world class etiquette is absolute and remains a constant in our art form. Please observe the guidelines in this document <Steve insert link> for all classes at PDT

Dress Code
Dress code must be observed at all times.  Class uniform must be worn within 14 days of registration.  Click here to download our dress code policies.

Primary Division

Placement in levels at Philadelphia Dance Theatre is based upon each child's individual development.  Each dancer will develop at their own physi0logical rate.

Ballet is hard and it takes daily practice, discipline, and dedication.  Each dancer is evaluated by their abilities, what they can comprehend, and put into their bodies.  All new students must be evaluated in a class before placed in a level.

Pre-Professional Division

Dancers eligible in Level 5 and up.  A rigorous training and performing schedule, which includes daily classes, summer intensive training and performances in A Philadelphia Nutcracker, Breaking Ground, Philadelphia Youth Dance Fest, Delaware Dance Festival and Members of Regional Dance America attend annual Festival.
