Pre-School Divisions: (Ages 3-6)
Pre Ballet 1, 2, & 3 and Tot Hip Hop
A love of music and moment is encouraged through games and and guided imaginary play. Exercises focused on gross motor skills, balance, coordination, rhythm, and finding joy in movement are at work. As young dancers progress through to Pre-Ballet 3, beginning ballet steps and French terminology are introduced, however creativity and exploration are still emphasized.
Primary Division: (Ages 7 and up)
Ballet 1 through 6 - Modern, Jazz, and Pilates
Beginning with ballet technique, our syllabus focuses on engaging proper alignment, balance, musicality, and instruction with French vocabulary. As the dancers progress through the levels, more intricate movement sequences are introduced, athletic steps such as jumps and turns, appropriate extension of the legs and feet are enforced, use of head is introduced, and proper preparation for center work are of continual focus. Dancers are encouraged to add other dance forms by Level 3 to broaden their scope of understanding contemporary movement.
Pre-Professional Division: (Ages 14 and up)
Ballet 5 through 6
Mastery of classical ballet technique continues with daily ballet classes, additional specialty classes of pointe for ladies, men’s class, partnering, and Pilates. Contemporary dance forms of Modern and Jazz round out the training to prepare the dancer for a professional career. As the repertory becomes more diverse, strength, fluidity of movement, and a sensitivity to musicality are all emphasized. While each dancer progresses, they are encouraged to master their own individual movement expression. A rigorous class and performance schedule complete this distinctive program.
