mission Philadelphia Dance Theatre offers a high-quality, richly creative, pre-professional dance instruction for both children and young adults.  By employing some of the very best professional teachers in the Philadelphia area, PDT provides an excellent and rigorous training in a nurturing environment which respects each dancer for his/her own individual potentiality.  Working in partnership with parents, PDT helps to educate the whole child, which includes supporting their educational pursuits and instilling a strong sense of self confidence and character.Their training program is further enriched with frequent exposure to the professional dance world with regular performance opportunities featuring original choreography by high-profile guest choreographers; and connections to the larger professional dance community both regionally and nationally.
welcome Philadelphia Dance Theatre located in the Mt. Airy section of Philadelphia is one of the only dance schools in the region to offer classical ballet training complemented by a contemporary dance program. Under the direction of Joy Delaney Capponi the school has received awards for their choreography. The repertory’s pulse is current, while preserving the integrity and discipline of classical ballet training. PDT provides exceptional dance training for beginner through pre-professional students. Alumni have gone on to professional careers and to study under scholarship with internationally recognized schools. PDT's performing company presents the acclaimed “A Philadelphia Nutcracker” each December a contemporary concert with new works each winter and a spring showcase featuring the students of Philadelphia Dance Theatre.
